Welcome 2008...

Well, all begun on a town a little bit far from home (like 8 hours by bus) the City: Cusco, Actually, the city itself is sort of mysterious and magic, where thousands of foreigners arrive to have some fun and cultural trips and trekking activities, most of them are from South America, mixed with europeans and others...

I got there with my brother and joined my beloved Melina and Jubitza (both cousins).

I got to the main square like 11:58 pm 2007.12.31, and we saw the HUGE crowd there... I took the "Espumante Italiano ASTI" bottle and started to drink with my family and then I saw ROCOTO (a friend of mine who were having fun there as well) I said... CHEERS!!! with the bottle of Asti and started to wet them with this...(OMG I can't believe i did so) and well, he took a bottle of something and started to wet all my jacket... with the fireworks and a big crowd running around the square... was such a nice time...

After, we went with the crowd to have a walk on the square, received and make some calls hugs and greetings from everywhere... went to a bar to have a drink and after, some hours waiting my cousins' friends... we decided to look for a disco to join... but, all was really extremely crowded, we decided to go home and have fun there... :D

Anyway, I'll go to the beach next year... (or maybe to the mountains if it is winter time...)

Ciao

2007 Updating...

After time... here a new Post!

May 2007

I was traveling back from Italy to Peru, because of extra Kg. at the Checking time on Milan, I had to pay EUR 600.00 to re-schedule my flight and Extra Kg. (EUR 296.00 cash plus 12 000 flight miles). Well, this will be useful for next time comming back from other country.

June 2007

Nothing that special from my side, but I had my 27th B-day! was so fun, going to dance in a Restaurant, after party at Downtown's Disco, eating a Dönner Kebab and finishing at 6 am eating the Traditional ADOBO somewhere in Cayma!...

July 2007

My Bro's B-day, things going fine on my small business and creating new opportunities for new joiners in AIESEC.

August 2007

We showed interest on a National IT Project's Contest, so, we signed in as participants in the contest and wanted to get an impulse on the current projects state, since additional funding will be essential to assure the Project's success!

My Mom's B-day with family and friends... we had a BBQ at home with all and tasted some new way to use Coke on cooking!... oh yeah was really good!

September 2007

The project was sent as official part of the competition, We contacted my former university, UCSM for getting infrastructure and research advise, also the Chamber of Commerce to get in touch with the Tourism area in Arequipa "AVIT" (my hosting city).

So the Institutions participating on the contest would be UCSM, AVIT, IPRO (an Alumnus and partner company) and Inka Systems.

October, November 2007

Working on my company, having some deals with the government to deliver some security on their servers for Apurimac (actually it is a small province close to Arequipa) and well,

On Oct 11th my former teammate Veronica was getting engaged to Joost, my former teammate (they both from AIESEC in Peru MC 2003 - 2004), they started the relationship during our term and on oct 11th 2008, they will be declaring their eternal love to God, Family and friends, I feel really good with this, since we worked together and Joost became really close friend of mine during my term as MCP and Vero was so as well, Congratulations and all the best for THEM!

My sister's B-day was held in Lima, she is working for the biggest Peruvian Bank there, I was glad to carry all her gifts from family there, also mine... REMEMBER, bring another HUGE Toblerone next time in Europe.

December 2007

I got a call at midday Dec. the 15th telling me that WE WON the National IT Contest, our project is getting co-funded I mean, we are getting 40% from the total amount budgeted!!! So it is the best way to finish 2007, for Christmas, we invited my aunt and granda to have a nice dinner after hugging and sharing some "Italian Espumante - Asti", we had a GREAT time...

Not a normal day…

It was February 15th and all started at 6:00 am, while most of people were “waking up”, I was getting ready for a Not normal day… a day when dreams, work and fun merged together to be a unforgettable experience.

I arrived to Malpensa airport, and got a plane to a mysterious and really interesting destination, Egypt, as somebody said, “…all of us, has on mind the name of Egypt, the pyramids, the Nile, and millenary culture from when we were children…” and it is true, in my case, I was landing to a country full of this magic that can let us live more about a new culture, but it was not a simple tourism trip, I was proud to attend the AIESEC “International President’s Meeting – 2007” as a part of the PwC Delegation, composed of Karel, Mengting, the Global Coordinator, and Veronica from PwC Italy.

The first part of PwC involvement is AIESEC Symposium. It is an event to talk about “how to activate and develop the Middle Eastern Talent”.

The Symposium and the Partner Dinner were held on the “Intercontinental City-stars”, one of the most luxurious five stars hotels in Cairo. It was a pleasure to get to know Tarek Mansour, TSP from PwC in Egypt and Andrew Marritt from UBS Switzerland, Patricia from The Netherlands, and so many people from the Middle East region, who from now on, are part of the Middle East and North Africa Growth Network “MENA-GN”. It was an amazing opportunity to interact with them and get to know the reality on this region, full of history, cultural heritage as well as challenges to be solved.

On Friday morning, as Egypt is a Muslim country, you can hear their prays all the day, since their weekend starts on Friday, so, weekend went really nice, walking around Cairo streets, mosques, markets and delicious food! We were living the culture!

The Opening was gorgeous, held on a Palace built on 1864. Typical dances - the AIDA was also part of it. All of them perfectly performed with most of the Old Egyptian musical instruments. It was just amazing to be there!

Global village, with delegations from more than 95 countries, was full of color, sweets and sweeties from every part of the AIESEC World as well as the PwC Delegation.

The conference, hosted in the Pamala resort hotel off the Red Sea, was completely astonishing - the opening, the roll calls, all came to my mind like if it was yesterday and I just joined and lived the conference like a normal delegate.

The AIESEC International Team 0708, was elected at IPM, the speeches, the special events discussing about interesting topics, world issues, showing us the beautiful minds of who were applying to President of AIESEC International.

Mengting, introduced and presented the PwC Scholarship to the global plenary. We were having country Meetings during lunches and dinners, enjoying sometimes the “Shisha” (also known as Narghila). Also, together with Mengting, Marcelo (from UBS), I got some time to get to Giza, the pyramids are just incredible, to have this kind of archeological heritage.

We accomplished all the main objectives and also, we had a lot of FUN, refreshing previous experiences on IPM, joining the Roll Calls, regional parties (we missed the AP Party, “Global Legislation” rules!), and like this, 10 days of conference, enjoying AIESEC Culture, all of them were not a normal day, unforgettable experience in Egypt!
